Sleep in until about 7:30 am. Still working on the jet lag. Had breakfast and headed for the cog train station.
We have a nice hotel room overlooking some of the old houses with slate roofs,

When we arrived up at Gornergrat, we ran across Matthew. He produces and sells water paintings of the Matterhorn and surrounding area. He is English (York) but has been living in Switzerland for the past 20 years. A charming fellow. We each bought one of his paintings.

We had a variety of entrees. I tried their beef tartare and found it way too sweet. I followed that with lamb medallions. I ordered medium rare and should have ordered rare-medium-rare or just rare. For desert, we both ordered the chocolate souffle, which was outstanding...in fact the best course of the meal.
